私は1989年以来獨協大学外国語学部英語学科で言語学・英語を教えています。ここ数年はe-ラーニングにも関わっています。医療従事者ではありませんが
失語症とe-ラーニングにはある程度の専門知識を持ち合わせているので、
失語症の方の自宅リハビリに使ってもらえる材料をここで提供していきたいと思います。
pictoreoleというサイト名は、男女のトイレを区別するサインのような絵文字/ピクトグラム (pictogram)と、異なる母国語の話者がコミュニケーションをとるために自然発達させた混成語/クレオール (creole)を混ぜて作りました。失語症者の方は、言葉が出ないとき、絵を使って必要なコミュニケーションをとります。絵を使ったコミュニケーションはいわば、クレオールのようなものです。また、発音や文字表記と異なり、絵文字は、（文化的差はもちろんありますが）、おおよそ世界共通にすることが可能です。
うまくいけば、失語症者の方のためのコミュニケーションシステムは、世界共通クレオールになるかもしれません。

I've been teaching linguistics at Dokkyo University in Japan since 1989. I've also been involved in e-learning recently. Taking advantage of my knowledge on these fields, I'd like to offer e-rehabilitation exercises for people with aphasia here.
The site name "pictoreole" is a combination of two words: pictogram and creole.
Probably the most familiar pictograms found all over the worlds are those at the public bathrooms to distinguish men's and women's room.
A creole is a language created over generations by speakers of various mother tongues living (more exactly, forced to live) together as a means of communication with each other.
Here, I'd like to create a kind of creole for people with aphasia using pictograms. Hopefully, it would become a creole not only for them to communicate with their family, friends, and STs, but also for speakers of all languages since the "words" in it are pictgrams and they are largely universal.
